Ronald J. McRobie practises labour, employment and human rights law. In addition to providing general counsel and preventive advice, Ron represents clients in litigious matters. He appears before arbitrators, the civil courts (Supreme Court of Canada, Court of Appeal, Superior Court, Court of Québec), administrative tribunals and various labour boards such as the Québec Labour Board (Tribunal administratif du travail) and the Canada Industrial Relations Board.
The negotiation of collective agreements at both provincial and federal levels is also a significant focus of Ron’s practice.
With expertise in all legal aspects of employment and labour law, executive terminations of employment and other dismissal cases, complex arbitration matters, and union certifications. He also handles matters relating to unfair labour practices, anti-scab (replacement workers) activities and successor rights issues under the Québec and federal labour codes.
Ron’s practice includes non-competition agreements, injunction and judicial review proceedings, human rights issues, and occupational health and safety matters. He has considerable experience in labour disputes, particularly in injunction proceedings regarding illegal picketing, strikes and other conflicts.
