Introducing the first event of 2026 hosted by Fasken and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, which aims to foster knowledge-sharing, inspire meaningful dialogue and build networks to support early-career Black lawyers.
This event is held in association with the Fasken Black Collective.
Join us for a discussion led by guest speakers Judge Alexandre Bien-Aimé and Judge Karine Joizil, who will share their professional journeys, perspectives on the judicial role, and reflections on the evolving legal landscape. This discussion will aim to demystify the judiciary, inspire current and future legal professionals, and foster thoughtful dialogue on best practices and contemporary legal realities.
This discussion will include:
- Reflections on the judicial role as both a legal and human responsibility, shaped by lived and professional experience
- The diverse pathways to the judiciary and the value of varied professional and community experiences
