Howard Kaufman’s practice is focused on client service, including building new corporate client relationships and enhancing existing ones in all of the firm’s Canadian offices.
Prior to joining the firm, Howard had a 24 year career in the Legal Department with his most recent position being Vice-President, Legal & External Affairs and Secretary. Prior to that he had a corporate/commercial practice with a Montreal-based law firm.
Howard has been, and continues to be, actively involved with the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association and the Association of Canadian General Counsel, of which he is a Past - President. He lectures internally at Fasken Martineau on advising how to best serve in-house counsel and externally on law department management including managing relationships with outside counsel, the role and responsibilities of in-house counsel, managing legal department costs, and crisis management.
