Overview

Mariella Lo Papa is Co-Leader of the Québec Real Estate Law practice group and Co-Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Law practice group. She has over 25 years of experience focused on commercial leasing of all asset classes, acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate, and development projects. Mariella is recognized nationwide by several renowned legal directories as a leading go to real estate lawyer.

Mariella has extensive transactional experience across a variety of industries and asset classes, on behalf of real estate developers, private institutional investors, both local and foreign, financial institutions, pension fund managers and Crown corporations. She advises property managers, owners, tenants, brokers, buyers and sellers in respect of office, retail, industrial, multi-use, multi-residential and institutional properties, including:

  • the data centre industry, where she has negotiated several major long-term design-build leases;
  • distribution and logistics sector, where Mariella assisted several investment funds with sale-lease back transactions; and
  • retail industry, where Mariella led multiple high-profile transactions involving both US purchasers and national and international luxury retailors, which she also assists with ongoing operational matters.

Having spent several years working in-house, Mariella is uniquely positioned to appreciate the challenges client teams face and is well-known for being highly responsive and providing practical value-add business and legal counsel.
