Toronto (Canada) – Fasken is pleased to welcome Randy Hughes as counsel in the Firm’s Toronto office as part of the Competition, Marketing & Foreign Investment group.
Randy is widely regarded as one of Canada’s leading competition lawyers. He brings extensive experience advising on competition law and Investment Canada aspects of complex domestic and cross‑border mergers and acquisitions. His practice includes representing clients in proceedings under the Competition Act and before the Competition Tribunal, as well as advising deal teams on regulatory risk in high‑stakes transactions.
Deeply engaged in the global competition law community, Randy serves as an officer in the Antitrust Section of the International Bar Association (IBA) and is an advisor to the Board of Interlex, a global, non‑exclusive network of independent law firms. Through these roles, he has developed strong working relationships with competition and M&A lawyers in the United States and internationally.
Randy’s reputation, international perspective, and experience in complex and contested matters enhances the Firm’s ability to support clients on competition and foreign investment transactions.
