Overview

Ian Campbell, a senior partner in Fasken’s Labour, Employment & Human Rights (LEHR) practice group, brings over two decades of comprehensive knowledge in workplace law to providing practical advice that helps clients achieve their strategic objectives. He has extensive experience in the federal sector, where he provides focused advice to clients in the railway, airline, banking, and transportation sectors.

Acclaimed for his practical and pragmatic advice, Ian represents unionized employers in collective bargaining, labour arbitrations and helping them to effectively navigate through matters before federal and provincial labour and human rights tribunals. Ian also represents non-unionized employers on a broad spectrum of matters, including those related to wrongful dismissal, restrictive covenant-related litigation, as well as business planning and re-organizations. His strategic counsel extends to corporate/commercial advisory services regarding mergers and acquisitions (M&A) among other business-critical transactions.

Beyond his legal practice, Ian regularly lectures and delivers training on various aspects of employment and labour law. He is consistently recognized as a leading practitioner in the areas of labour relations and employment law by legal directories including Lexpert, Thomson Reuters, and the Legal 500 Canada. Ian is also a member of various legal and other industry associations, including the American Employment Law Council.
