Overview

Stéphanie Lavallée is a litigator who practises in the area of  in major complex litigation involving commercial disputes, class actions, product liability and civil liability. As part of her practice, she regularly appears before the courts at all levels.

Stéphanie has gained valuable experience in large-scale litigation cases that require considerable evidence management. She acts primarily in complex cases and in class-action defence. She provides practical, innovative advice and participated in drafting an historic sexual abuse settlement and protocol for compensation.

 

Stéphanie also participates in writing legal books and is actively involved in her community as a director on the boards of various arts and cultural organizations.

Community involvement

  • Volunteer teacher for the moot court of the Canadian Bar Association’s Citizenship and Charters Committee, offering courses on charters to high school students and teaching them how to participate in a simulated hearing before the Supreme Court of Canada (2009-)  
  • Co-chair of the Brigade arts affaires de Montréal (BAAM), a federative organization whose mission is to draw the largest possible number of up-and-coming business people to the arts by holding exclusive events, professional networking activities and initiatives to promote art patronage and philanthropy (February 2015 to 2017)
  • Helped mobilize the rising stars of Montreal’s business community to attend a BAAM event that welcomed a record-breaking 750 people and all of Montreal’s up-and-coming professionals from the arts and business committees to announce an innovative and historic initiative--Cadeau de Montréal. This BAAM initiative consists of 100 members of our future business leaders, who will offer the City of Montreal a public work of art for its 375th Anniversary.
