A few years ago, during the articling recruitment process for the Course aux stages, I remember being won over by the Fasken team’s kindness. I felt like I would be a good fit with the team, and I could imagine myself working with all the people I met. My internship experience confirmed the expectations I had set following the recruitment process a few years before. I have had the opportunity to work on a wide variety matters in a number of different areas of law. I felt welcomed, mentored and well integrated into the team. I was able to participate in client calls, make submissions to the court, draft proceedings, and much more! At Fasken, everyone’s door is always open, and we feel that everyone cares about our development. I’m more than happy to have chosen Fasken to complete my internship. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to grow in an environment that promotes excellence and collaboration.

Having had the opportunity to work as a summer student and to start my articles at Fasken, I’m convinced that it is one of the best environments in which one can grow. Not only do we have the opportunity to work on really interesting files that stimulate our intellectual curiosity and benefit from the exceptional guidance of the entire team, but they are also very easy to get along with. I’m looking forward to continuing my internship with the firm and building my career in such a wonderful environment!

In a nutshell, my student summer at Fasken revolved around learning, goodwill and, of course, having fun. From the outset of our legal career, Fasken gives us access to a team of seasoned legal professionals, career development experts and event planning specialists. With such a dynamic team, most of our lunches inevitably turn into friendly get-togethers. Lawyers don’t hesitate to involve us in all sorts of complex matters that pique our curiosity and allow us to test and deepen our knowledge, thanks to the opportunity of learning from professionals with extensive experience in their field. What’s more, articling students and students share a workspace, which enables us to discuss different files and legal issues when assessing the available options. As students, we feel that we are truly included and that each person cares about our development. Fasken offers a welcoming environment that is founded not only on the skills of its people but also on their compassion.

During my time at Fasken as a student, and currently as an articling student, I have seen the importance the firm places on developing its future talents. At Fasken, summer interns and articling students are always assigned tasks that allow us to unlock our full potential. We are able to grow and thrive because of the opportunities Fasken provides us, and all the more so thanks to the team’s support. Lawyers, administrative staff and legal assistants all contribute to ensuring a stimulating and friendly workplace. So far my experience at Fasken has exceeded my expectations.

Fasken gave me the opportunity to learn as a student, but more importantly, to grow as a future professional. Needless to say, the whole experience is very instructive!

Whenever I think about my student semester at Fasken, I think of cooperation between colleagues. I’ve often sought the input of colleagues in finding possible solutions, who have helped me considerably in expanding my research questions, whether it be by example or other means. Not only is this approach ideal for learning, it also allows us to build strong relationships between colleagues, many of whom have become good friends. Overall, I would say the people is what makes Fasken so special.

Working at Fasken is all a student could ever hope for at the start of their career! The work is stimulating, varied and valued, the lawyers are active and devoted mentors, and the summer students are not only hard-working and interesting but are also people with whom you become fast friends. I consider myself extremely lucky to have started my legal career at Fasken, a firm not only recognized for its legal successes, but also for its commitment to fostering talent and encouraging each student to reach their full potential!

Since I was welcomed to Fasken last summer as a student, I have had the opportunity to work on engaging files, develop my legal and professional skills, and create close bonds with my fellow students. It can be daunting to enter a new professional environment, particularly one which will lay the foundations for one’s future legal practice. However, at Fasken, I have always been surrounded by mentors, both formal and informal, who have given their time generously to ensure my success. Whether it’s lawyers, the professional development team, my fellow students, or the many other integral members of the Fasken Montreal office, I have always felt robustly supported here!

My student summer at Fasken was an extremely enriching experience, both intellectually and socially. I had the opportunity to be surrounded by very brilliant and kind people. The firm values mutual support and collaboration, which makes it an ideal place to work. I have also been mentored by several lawyers, all of whom are committed to the professional success of junior legal professionals. The wide range of matters and the myriad of industries in which Fasken is active allowed me to learn new things every day. I’m very happy and fortunate to have the opportunity to start my legal career in such a stimulating environment, and I hope to stay there for a very long time.
