Complaints Procedure
We are committed to providing the highest quality of service to our clients. If you are a client and you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service provided to you, we would ask that in the first instance you contact the partner responsible for the matter or your relationship partner who will be happy to discuss the matter with you. If you are still dissatisfied, then you are entitled to invoke our complaints process. A copy of our complaints procedure may be obtained by making a request in writing to aakinjide@fasken.com.
If the matter is still not resolved at the conclusion of our complaints process, you may be entitled to ask the Legal Ombudsman of England and Wales to consider your complaint. A complaint to the Legal Ombudsman must normally be made within six months of the date of the conclusion of the firm's complaints procedure. Details on how to contact the Legal Ombudsman and further information on the procedures involved can be found at www.legalombudsman.org.uk.
You may be entitled to apply for an assessment of a bill sent by the firm under Part III of the Solicitors Act 1974. Please note that the Legal Ombudsman may not consider a complaint about a bill if you have applied to the court for assessment of that bill. In addition, complaints and redress mechanisms are provided by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (“SRA”). See www.sra.org.uk for more details.
Professional indemnity insurance
Fasken Martineau LLP is required by the SRA to have professional indemnity insurance. This insurance covers Fasken Martineau LLP in England and Wales, and extends to acts and omissions of lawyers of Fasken Martineau LLP wherever in the world they occur. The insurer is Mosaic Syndicate Services Limited, 70 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 0HR.
