Canada's New Impact Assessment Act

This session will consider the far reaching impact of the recent (and controversial) changes to the federal government’s environmental assessment legislation – the Impact Assessment Act (IAA). The IAA changes will profoundly affect project approvals in Canada.

In this session, we will discuss:

• IAA 101 - the changes, new assessment processes and how it will affect your projects and approvals
• Working with the new regulatory agencies and how roles and jurisdiction have fundamentally changed
• Understanding Indigenous involvement and early engagement and how to succeed with the new approach
• How the Federal IAA will integrate with the new BC Environmental Assessment Act
