Aaron’s practice focuses on all areas of labour, employment and human rights law.
He advises employers on a variety of labour and employment law matters, including wrongful dismissals, workplace human rights, investigations, employment standards, employment agreements, workplace policies and privacy. He also represents employers in litigation (including judicial reviews and appeals) before a number of adjudicative bodies, including the Alberta Courts, Human Rights Commission, Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner and labour arbitrators.
Aaron also acts for employers on occupational health and safety matters, including serious incident response, responding to regulatory inspections and information requests, conducting OHS-related workplace investigations and defending against charges under OHS legislation. Aaron has a particular interest in the intersection between workplace diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and the law. He has completed the DEI Certificate Program through Cornell University’s eCornell. As a workplace investigator, he advises employers on best practices and their legal obligations regarding workplace investigations and is available to conduct independent, external investigations on behalf of employers.
Prior to joining Fasken, Aaron practised labour, employment and human rights law at another recognized law firm in Calgary.
