Adam Gilani is a civil litigator at Fasken’s Toronto office. Adam is an experienced trial lawyer who brings a client-centred approach and strategic thinking to a wide range of practice areas, especially in the defence of complex and multi-jurisdictional class proceedings.
Adam has acted as counsel in matters before all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and assisted on matters before the Supreme Court of Canada. Adam has extensive experience acting as counsel before multiple federal and provincial administrative tribunals including the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeal Tribunal, the Environmental Protection Tribunal of Canada, and the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board.
Adam has significant experience litigating a wide variety of civil and administrative proceedings including class actions, large-scale negligence actions, crown liability proceedings, constitutional challenges, applications for judicial review, human rights complaints, and various labour and employment proceedings.
As part of his practice, Adam brings particular skills in managing large-scale and complex documentary productions and e-discovery, as well as working with expert witnesses. Adam’s client-centred and solutions-based approach allows him to achieve the best outcomes for clients both inside and outside the courtroom.
