Craig Whitley is a partner in Fasken’s Banking & Finance Practice based in Johannesburg. Craig acts for both local and international banks, as well as borrowers and sponsors, with regard to their funding structures, in particular leverage finance, project finance, acquisition finance, real estate and development finance, commodities finance, preference share funding and security structuring.
With more than 20 years of experience he has been involved in a wide range of projects in various sectors including infrastructure and power which includes extensive experience acting for both sponsors and lenders under the Department of Energy’s renewable energy IPP programme, as well as in the real estate, mining and metals sectors.
Craig regularly drafts and negotiates on behalf of lenders and borrowers (both under LMA and otherwise) across a wide range of cross-border financing transactions.
