Cristina Aliu Carrascosa joined Fasken as a law student in the summer of 2024. Before attending McGill University for her legal studies, Cristina was a consultant at a public affairs firm in Ottawa that mainly represented Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals. Prior to consulting, she spent a few years working various political roles in the House of Commons, including as an office director where she managed both a Member of Parliament's constituency and Hill offices.
Cristina has been actively involved in extracurricular activities while in law school, namely as the Chief Returning Officer (CRO) of elections for the student body and as a member of the Student Affairs Office (SAO) Advisory Board. She also participated in the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, where she placed second alongside her negotiation teammate.
Cristina obtained her B.A. in political science from the University of Manitoba, where she graduated with first class honours, and was awarded the prestigious Undergraduate Research Award for two consecutive years. During her undergraduate studies, Cristina was also actively involved in student government.
Outside of her professional and academic career, Cristina is passionate about languages, history, geopolitics, and art.
