Danuta de Vries is Banking & Finance counsel in Fasken's London office. Danuta represents lenders, borrowers and other participants in domestic and international finance transactions, particularly in the areas of project finance, export finance and real estate finance, with particular focus on the mining sector. Danuta has extensive experience representing banks, multilaterals, funds and other finance providers as well as sponsor side public and private companies on a broad range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions.
As a dual-qualified lawyer in England & Wales and Poland, Danuta has accumulated vast experience working in a large number of emerging market jurisdictions in Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. Danuta's work has been acclaimed internationally by legal directories including The Legal 500, which has repeatedly recognized her for expertise in the areas of Emerging Markets and Mining. Prior to joining Fasken, Danuta worked at the London office of an international law firm. While there, she completed client secondments at Fortis Bank (currently BNP Paribas), J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and HSBC Bank plc, where she supported client legal teams on a variety of transactions, including in particular, project and Export Credit Agency – supported finance transactions.
