Dongwoo Kim is an articling student in the firm's Toronto office.

Dongwoo graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, Dongwoo was the manager of a research program at a national think-tank that covered artificial intelligence (AI), data privacy, and digitalization policies. Dongwoo has further pursued his interest in digital technology after starting law school. He spent his 1L summer at a Toronto law firm, where he assisted with AI and privacy files. At law school, Dongwoo contributed to research on the Privacy Act reform at the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights and served as the Co-President of the Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Group. Dongwoo also assisted with research projects at the Citizen Lab and the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, and authored research papers supervised by faculty members on topics related to privacy and AI. During law school, Dongwoo was a Junior Fellow at Massey College and volunteered for the Korean Legal Clinic and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review. He holds degrees from the University of Alberta (BA, First Class Honours), the University of British Columbia (MA), and Peking University (MA), where he was part of the second cohort of the Yenching Scholars program. Dongwoo enjoys exploring cafes and used bookstores, going to the theatre, and watching baseball games.

Dongwoo participated in the Firm’s Summer Secondment Program in 2023, and was seconded to the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
