Elyse Mitchell recently completed her third year of the three-and-a-half-year Bachelor of Civil Law/Juris Doctor degree at McGill University’s Faculty of Law.
She served as a Director of the Compass Legal Clinic and as Coordinator of the McGill Section of Pro Bono Students Canada for the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition, she has been actively involved with the McGill Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution as a Senior Editor. Before attending law school, Elyse earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communications from the University of Ottawa. As part of the Co-operative Education program, she gained experience in both the public sector and the private sector, including a placement at an international public relations firm in its Vancouver office. She also worked at uOttawa’s Entrepreneurship Hub, sparking her continued interest in entrepreneurial spaces and innovation. After graduating, she worked as a Marketing Coordinator for her alma mater, supporting the launch of its satellite campus in the Kanata North technology park.
In her spare time, Elyse enjoys discovering new cafés, travelling, exploring art museums, skiing, and hiking.
