SCC Roger William Case: Is it a Game-Changer in Ontario?
Last week, the Supreme Court of Canada released its decision in Tsilhqot'in Nation (Roger William). The Supreme Court updeld the trial court's finding that Tsilhqot'in First Nation hold Aboriginal title, and essentially own and control, a 2000 square kilometer tract of land (formerly treated as Crown land). Commentators are calling this a landmark decision with significant impact on the resource industry in Canada.
The seminar will address the legal and practical implications of the Williams decision to resource development and energy projects in Ontario.
