Overview

Employers hold a vast amount of information about their employees, including their age, race, ID number, contact details, marital status, union membership and information about their health. In order to ensure compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”), employers will have to significantly change how they collect, store, use and communicate personal information belonging to their employees.

You are invited to join Fasken Martineau’s Employment Department for a seminar at which we shall highlight employers’ obligations in terms of POPI and propose the manner in which compliance may be achieved and internal safeguards developed to prevent the unlawful processing of information.
