James Villeneuve, Former Canadian Consul General to Los Angeles together with MAPLE Business Council present a webinar - Doing Business in Canada: Cross-Border M&A and Key Tax Considerations in the Context of COVID-19.

Gesta Abols and Neil Kravitz, Co-Leaders of Fasken’s U.S. Practice will be providing an overview of the current business landscape in Canada. The presentation will include practical guidance in the context of cross-border M&A in light of the fast-moving legal, regulatory, transactional and board-level impacts of COVID-19 including national security and foreign investment issues as it intersects with business. Claude Jodoin, a preeminent tax partner with Fasken will also provide insight into federal and provincial programs that have been initiated by the respective governments to assist businesses and individuals in Canada, including non-residents carrying on business in Canada directly or through a subsidiary, during this incredibly difficult time. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
