This webinar will explore five key areas of particular relevance as the industry navigates its way through the varying aspects of ESG. Environmental/Climate Change - carbon neutrality, stakeholder expectations and performance indicators

Investor expectations and demands related climate change, carbon neutrality, and science based targets have changed dramatically over the last year. Blackrock’s Larry Fink has raised the bar and multinational companies including Unilever, Mars, Shell, BP, and Maple Leaf Foods have lead corporate action to facilitate carbon neutrality and favourable investment. What are the central ESG drivers and Procedural steps that prudent entities in the extractive sectors can take to demonstrate diligence and investment favourable approaches to climate related ESG.

From the Equator Principles to sustainability-linked finance, a mining company’s ESG performance can increasingly affect its access to capital. This session will explore this evolving landscape and how best to navigate the resulting opportunities - and pitfalls.

Management of courtroom risks that apply to on-the-ground operations
Clifford Sosnow

Recent court room decisions, indicate that governance issues subject to international standards including as they apply to labour rights can be a source of litigation risk in Canada even if mining operations are exclusively conducted abroad. This presentation will highlight some of these risks and how to minimize them.
