Overview

Digital environments, digital assets, and blockchain represent some of the technologies that have and will continue to have a significant impact on our lives. The convergence of these with the traditional internet will result in “Web 3.0”, a future version of the internet, that could not only continue, but accelerate ,the disruption of traditional business models. How could this everchanging landscape impact your business and your intellectual property (“IP”)?

As the world continues to embrace the digitalization of value and rights through Web 3.0 technologies, it is important to understand the emerging legal issues these technologies bring. This seminar aims to help our clients navigate this strange new world that could arise as a result of the adoption and use of ground breaking technologies. This seminar will cover:

  • What is Web 3.0 and why does it matter?
  • What are non-fungible token (“NFTs”), virtual and augmented realities (e.g. the “Metaverse”), DAOs (decentralized autonomous organisations), and how could they impact and/or disrupt IP owners, creators and users?
  • What can you do to mitigate the disruption and risks associated with these Web 3.0 technologies?
