2022 marked another year of significant change for federal sector employers, many of whom are only just starting to emerge from the challenges of the pandemic. And, by all accounts, there is more change to come.
In this federal sector update, we review the most significant legislative and other changes, both in force and on the horizon, including:
- Legislation banning replacement workers during strikes and lockouts
- 10 new paid days of medical leave
- New French language obligations
- The Pay Equity Act
- The Modern Slavery Act
- Pay Transparency obligations under the Employment Equity Act
We will also discuss how these issues, the broader economic climate, and other emerging trends are impacting federal employers at the bargaining table and in the workplace.
We will be joined by Derrick Hynes, President and CEO of FETCO, who will provide behind-the-scenes insight on what lies ahead.
