Overview

This two day course is the final step in becoming a fully certified Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) member. In Ontario, JHSCs are required, by law, to have at least two (2) certified members.

JHSC members who successfully complete Part One training are required to receive further training on the "significant hazards" specific to their workplace.

In this course you will learn about the following significant hazards applicable to an office workplace:

  • Workplace Violence & Harassment
  • Indoor Air Quality
  • Emergency Response and Preparedness
  • Slips, Trips and Falls
  • Manual Material Handling
  • Hazardous Products/Chemicals
  • Ergonomics
  • Electrical Hazards
Upon completion of JHSC Certification Part Two, participants will be able to identify the hazards commonly found in an office workplace and describe how they may cause injury or illness. You will also learn how to assess, control and evaluate these sector specific hazards.

Fasken is an approved provider of JHSC Certification – Part 2 (Sector Specific) Training. This course was developed in accordance with the training program guidelines set by the Chief Prevention Officer of Ontario.
