This one-hour presentation will provide clients and prospective clients with an overview of the new Lobbyists’ Code of Conduct, which will come into force on Saturday, July 1, 2023. It will walk clients and prospective clients through the new, complex rules on public sector gifts, hospitality and entertainment. It will also provide an overview of:
- The prohibition on sharing misleading and confidential information;
- The ban on communicating with “close relationships”; and
- The cooling-off period for lobbyists who engage in “political work."
This presentation will offer practical tips on how you can limit legal and reputational risks. It will be of interest to businesses and organizations that have dealings with the federal government, including any federal agencies, boards, commissions, or crown corporations.
