This Fasken Series brings notable guests to share their experiences and explore ideas around equity, diversity, and inclusion in the legal industry and beyond.

In honour of National Indigenous History Month, and to celebrate Pride, we invite you to join us for The Spark Series with Jack Saddleback on Monday June 19th, co-hosted with the Fasken Pride Network.

Captivating, real, grounded, and illuminated, are just a few words used to describe Jack’s journey as a Cree two-spirit transgender gay man. Jack’s story embodies how one person’s spirit can help transform a community and tear down the barriers that divide us. His message of self-awareness, identity and embracing our authentic self is applicable to each of us. He creates a safe space helping us to understand diversity and gender identity in a new way, while teaching us all what it takes to become a ‘Good Ancestor’.

The discussion will touch on:

embracing Two Spirits, conquering mental health, and finding one’s identity,
addressing reconciliation and decolonization from Jack’s unique perspective, and
a message of sâkihito-maskihkiy (love medicine), identity, and embracing our authentic self.

This is a hybrid event with speakers joining us virtually, and a viewing luncheon for in-person attendees in Toronto.
