Symposium 2023 - Update on Indigenous Legal Issues

This session will focus on recent developments in the law and regulatory environment, related to Indigenous Nations. We will explore:

• Trends in litigation – a summary of recent judicial decisions, including Gitxaala v. British Columbia (Chief Gold Commissioner), and a look ahead at impactful decisions of the BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
• Indigenous-led assessments – the what, why and how of navigating Indigenous-led assessments.
