Overview

Mining companies operating in Canada face new anti-greenwashing provisions in the Competition Act, introduced by Bill C-59, as well as increased scrutiny of their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures in Canada and internationally.

At the same time, there is substantial pushback over ESG policies and related disclosures in other jurisdictions, such as in the US.

This interactive session will explore the risks that this increasingly complex disclosure landscape poses for mining companies, as well as discuss best practices for mining companies that wish to communicate their ESG performance to investors, regulators and other stakeholders.
