Fatima Husnain is engaged in a diverse corporate/commercial practice for both private and publicly-held companies. Fatima has been involved in a wide variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, share purchase transactions, asset purchase transactions, and private and public financings.
Fatima completed a Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work at the University of Windsor. Prior to law school, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Business and Legal Studies (co-op), with minors in Political Science and Sociology at the University of Waterloo.
Her past work experience includes working as a legal summer student for the Ontario Financing Authority, as a Caseworker for Community Legal Aid and as a Social Work Student at Legal Assistance of Windsor. Fatima also worked as Student Conduct Board Coordinator at the University of Windsor and as a Tutorial Assistant for a first year property law course. Fatima participated in the Zuber Moot for which she was awarded Honourable Mention Oralist, as well as the Windsor Law Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition where her team placed first overall and she was awarded Top Oralist. Fatima received a JW Whiteside Award from the University of Windsor for her extensive involvement and impact to Windsor Law and its surrounding community. Fatima has significant volunteer experience. She has facilitated workshops on sexual assault through the Bystander Initiative and was a member of the Windsor Law Admissions Committee. She also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for eight years. Fatima enjoys crocheting, plants, baking, and health and fitness.
Fatima summered and articled with the Firm and was seconded to Pro Bono Ontario. Prior to joining the Firm as an associate she completed a clerkship at the Federal Court with the Honourable Mr. Justice Henry S. Brown.
