Genevieve is a life sciences lawyer, practicing in the area of health and food regulation in Fasken’s intellectual property group in our Montréal office. She advises manufacturers on all stages of the lifecycle of a pharmaceutical product, from conception to consumers. She also advises clients on IP strategy development and protection.
Genevieve holds both a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from McGill University. This allows her to counsel clients through both common law and Québec civil law lenses on a wide variety of services—from advising on regulatory compliance to managing intellectual property assets.
Genevieve has experience in regulatory and compliance responsibilities of life science companies, including advising on the launch of a new health product in Canada, providing guidance through Health Canada investigations and recalls, reviewing advertising material, developing patient support programs, and advising on drug and medical device pricing and reimbursement questions. Genevieve also provides strategic counselling to companies of all sizes for the management of their intellectual property assets, including trademark, patent and copyright protection.
During law school, Genevieve worked with the McGill Center of Genomic and Policy to publish works on the integration of novel medicines and biotechnology into the Canadian healthcare system.
