Ian is Counsel and Director, E-Discovery for the B.C. Region. He achieved proficiency in e-discovery due to the discipline being the focus of his legal practice for more than a decade.
Ian’s e-discovery experience spans the EDRM (the Electronic Discovery Reference Model), from preservation and collection through to production. Notably, he directed managed review projects for many major professional services firms in the Canadian market. His e-discovery practice has spanned civil disputes, competition and regulatory matters, public inquiries, and AML and anti-corruption investigations. Ian practiced civil litigation prior to specializing in e-discovery.
Ian graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where he completed the combined JD / MBA program. He was the recipient of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (NSBS) Leadership Award and served as President of the law school’s Domus Legis.
