Iliass Lamaangar joined Fasken in the summer of 2024 following his second year of law school at the Université de Montréal. During his studies, he worked for the Canada Border Services Agency as a student border services officer, as a research assistant for a professor, and in the banking sector.
In addition to his professional experience, he has been involved in several Pro Bono projects dealing primarily with immigration and refugee issues. He also co-founded and took up the position of treasurer of the Middle Eastern and North African Law Students Association, which aims to promote the cultural and legal diversity of this region.
In his spare time, Iliass enjoys travelling and training, while also nurturing a passion for the world of aviation and politics.
