Overview

Jamie Schmidt is an articling student in the firm's Ottawa office.

Jamie graduated from the combined Political Science and Juris Doctor program at the University of Ottawa. She completed her studies in French, though she is fully bilingual and places high value on the various francophone communities of Canada. Jamie has participated in many volunteer opportunities and was the recipient of the 2017-2018 Lieutenant Governor's Community Volunteer Award for her exemplary involvement in her community. During her university career, she undertook some pro bono work as a student volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she was responsible for summarizing French case law relating to intellectual disabilities and conducting additional relevant legal research. She also completed several volunteer hours at the Centre de santé communautaire Hamilton/Niagara, where she helped implement several provincial health-related programs. She shows a particular interest for human rights and labour law.

In her spare time, Jamie enjoys dancing, reading and playing various racquet sports.
