Overview

Jon Conlin is a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group, Private Equity & Venture Capital Group and Technology Group. Jon’s practice includes a wide range of complex business transactions; with a focus on M&A, strategic investments, private equity transactions and related corporate law matters. He also advises high-growth technology companies, founders and venture capital funds on private financings and other strategic transactions. Further, Jon regularly advises CEOs, boards of directors and special committees on corporate governance matters.

In recent years, Jon has led large legal teams on transactions totalling billions of dollars of value, including 2023’s Canadian Mid-Market Deal of the Year. Jon has significant experience serving as a director and officer within high growth businesses and, in addition to serving as the corporate secretary to a number of technology companies, is currently a director and officer of Filament Health (NEO:FH) (and member of the compensation committee and governance committee). Jon is the co-founder of Walter, a toolchain for company builders, investors and lawyers.

Jon is recognized by Chambers, Best Lawyers, Lexpert in Canada and Clearway as a leading lawyer in the areas of corporate law, venture capital, private equity and M&A and is involved as a legal partner of New Ventures BC and Foresight Cleantech Accelerator in British Columbia. Jon received Lexpert’s 2021 Rising Star Award and Business in Vancouver’s 2020 Forty Under 40 Award.

Jon is on the board of directors of the Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum Society and the Vancouver College Alumni Association.
