Overview

Karan Bateriwala is an articling student in the firm's Toronto office.

Karan completed his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. Before law school, Karan received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University, notably serving as the President of a youth social entrepreneurship organization. During his time at Windsor Law, Karan was a Senior Legal Caseworker for Community Legal Aid, advocating for clients across a spectrum of legal issues, including criminal law, landlord and tenant disputes, and small claims court matters. In the summer of 2022, he was Fasken’s First Year Legal Innovation Intern, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing the firm’s service delivery. Karan's prior work experiences in Banking Compliance and Entrepreneurship, coupled with his experiences at Windsor, have cultivated his interest in corporate and commercial law. In his spare time, Karan enjoys cycling, photography, and perfecting the art of coffee making.

Karan participated in the Firm’s Summer Secondment Program in 2023, and was seconded to Noetic Fund.
