Overview

An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec (Bill 96)

As of June 2022, Bill 96 officially became An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec (the “Act”). For the past year, the Act has been raising doubts and concerns.

To make things clear, the Fasken team has created a five-point document that will enable you to easily adapt your business practices and understand the consequences and sanctions you face if you fail to comply with your obligations:

  1. Workplace
  2. Public posting
  3. Advertising, websites and social media
  4. Contracts and securities
  5. Francization of businesses
