Maria Braker is counsel in our Litigation and Conflict Resolution group. She has extensive experience in appellate advocacy, in complex contractual disputes, in administrative law, as well as in class action defense.
Her practice includes a focus on written advocacy, as well as providing legal opinions on difficult and novel legal issues. Maria is also actively involved in securities litigation.
Maria began her career as a research lawyer at the Court of Appel of Quebec, for the honorable Jacques Chamberland, J.C.A. Before joining Fasken, she practiced civil, commercial and administrative litigation in a boutique litigation firm. She was also counsel for the Commission of Inquiry on the Awarding and Management of Public Contracts in the Construction Industry (Charbonneau Commission) and represented a participant before the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Public Inquiry.
