Marie-Pier Gagnon Nadeau practises as a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group at our Montreal office. She mainly defends class actions in civil liability, product liability, securities, consumer law and competition law.
In the context of multi-jurisdictional class actions, proceeding simultaneously before the courts of several provinces, she has worked successfully to coordinate strategies designed to limit the risks for defendants, and even to promote the resolution of disputes.
Whether working on individual or class actions, Marie-Pier stands out for her quick understanding of clients' issues and objectives, as well as her contribution to creative solutions for preventing or settling disputes. She is regularly involved in negotiating and drafting settlements.
Marie-Pier has also developed a wealth of experience in private international law, and is entrusted with the management of key aspects of this field in major national and international cases. Clients also call on her to obtain recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in Quebec.
Marie-Pier acts at all stages of a case and represents clients before all levels of court, with experience before the Tribunal administratif du logement, the Court of Québec, the Québec Superior Court, the Québec Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Before launching her law career at Fasken, Marie-Pier had previously accumulated more than ten years experience as a successful journalist.
