Mathias maintains a broad commercial litigation practice, and has experience with complex, high-profile disputes in a range of sectors, including telecommunications and public infrastructure. He has also been involved in a variety of public law matters.
Mathias graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. While a student, he completed placements at the 519 Community Centre in Toronto and the Centre for Law and Democracy in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He also served as an executive of the Osgoode Hall chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada. In his third year, he received the Bereskin & Parr LLP Prize for highest standing in Patent Law. Prior to law school, Mathias completed an undergraduate degree in music and computer science at the University of Toronto, where he served as president of the student government.
In his spare time, Mathias is active in local politics and the Toronto performing arts community. He serves as president of Start Proud, on the board of directors of Toronto Jewish Music Week, and was a co-founder of the Canadian Association of 2SLGBTQ+ Lawyers. He is also a passionate foodie who doesn’t believe in following recipes.
