Overview

Michael van Vuren is an internationally recognized corporate & commercial lawyer in Fasken’s Johannesburg office. He is well known for his work in the mining, industrial, financial services and healthcare industries.

Michael’s strength lies in his experience gained over 30 years in general corporate & commercial law across a broad range of industries. A business-minded practitioner, advising clients on business-driven solutions, his experience extends to advising client on M&A, corporate governance, the Companies Act, 2008, empowerment transactions; as well as due diligence matters and all related agreements.

With an in-depth understanding of the financial services sector, Michael adopts a holistic approach to client’s transactions which include finance structures, securities and projects.

In addition, he advises clients on the legal aspects within healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical schemes environment. Michael is the past chairman of the board to the world famous Drakensburg Boys Choir School, where he was able to put his skills to good use.
