Michaëlle Guilbault is a lawyer in our Corporate/Commercial group in our Québec office. Her practice covers a wide range of matters in business law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity financing and corporate law.
She is particularly active in business acquisition or sale transactions and acts for either buyers or sellers. Michaëlle is also called upon to advise clients on family business transfers and management buyouts. She is also frequently sought after for her experience in auction process deals, where Michaëlle represents both buyers seeking to stand out in this competitive process and sellers wishing to maximize their exit conditions. In addition, Michaëlle advises the firm’s clients on equity financing structures, at varying levels of complexity and involving different types of investment vehicles.
Her work also includes the negotiation and drafting of various commercial agreements, whether in the context of partnerships, procurement or general corporate needs.
Michaëlle is known by her peers for her thoroughness and practical approach to the transaction process. Her approach is driven by her desire to understand the nature and imperatives of each client's business in order to better meet their specific objectives.
Since 2021, Michaëlle also invests her time in a cause that is close to her heart by acting as ‘Grand Ambassador’ of the annual Daffodil Benefit Dinner (Souper-bénéfice de la Jonquille) organized by the Canadian Cancer Society in Québec City. Her involvement in this cause earned her in 2023 the Louis-Philippe Pigeon Award, awarded since 1989 by the Jeune Barreau de Québec for meritorious acts or exceptional contribution.
