Nareg is a technology lawyer with Fasken's Privacy and Cybersecurity group. He provides practical and actionable advice to some of Canada’s leading institutions and startups.
His practice focuses on data protection issues, with a particular penchant for cybersecurity breach preparation and response (incl. bespoke advisory work, gap assessments, crisis simulation, and holistic breach response). His breach response work has helped organizations navigate complex cybersecurity events in a variety of sectors: telecommunications, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, banking, finance, transport, energy. He also acts as a subject matter for corporate transactions and assists with contractual matters, where he helps quantify and mitigate cybersecurity and privacy risk. He has broad experience with the Canadian privacy landscape and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C) and a Certified Cybersecurity Professional (CC from ISC2).
He was formerly involved in building a community of young technophile lawyers as a board member of the Young Bar of Montreal, in pioneering access to justice initiatives as a researcher at the Cyberjustice Laboratory, and in innovating the legal profession as a mentor at LawWithoutWalls.
