Toronto (Canada) – Fasken Martineau, a leading international business law and litigation firm, has advised on a transaction that was named Deal of the Year at the annual Infrastructure Journal Global (IJGlobal) Americas Awards 2016 last night in New York.
The IJGlobal Americas Awards celebrate the outstanding transactions and institutions from the world of infrastructure finance. The winning transaction on which Fasken Martineau’s Infrastructure & Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Group advised on is:
- North America Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year – UC Merced
The Fasken Martineau team successfully advised the Plenary Properties Merced consortium on the closing of the UC Merced 2020 Project, which is the next major phase of campus development at the University of California, Merced. This planned expansion of the University of California, Merced campus, which began in the Fall of 2016, will almost double the physical capacity of the campus, providing significant amounts of new teaching and research facilities, housing, athletics and support spaces. By the time the expansion is complete in 2020, University of California, Merced will be able to comfortably accommodate 10,000 students.
