Ally and Iain co-led the team in the sale of Daiya Foods Inc. to Otsuka Pharmaceuticals for C$405 million. This was a landmark transaction for the natural food industry, providing Daiya with a partner that has expertise in consumer brands, R&D, manufacturing, and global markets that can elevate the brand to new heights. It also greatly expands Otsuka’s product portfolio, adding new categories of plant-based products in North America. Moving forward, Fasken Martineau will continue to act as Canadian counsel for Daiya Foods Inc., and Ally will continue to serve as corporate secretary for the new Board.
The Deal of the Year Award celebrates a leading British Columbia sell-side transaction. This award recognizes the executive team and CEO, as well as British Columbia-based professional firms and other individuals involved whose excellence in executing on that transaction led to an exceptional outcome.
