Vancouver (Canada) – For a second year in a row, Fasken has received the ACG British Columbia’s “Deal of the Year” Award, and it is a repeat win for Vancouver Partner Iain Mant.
Led by Iain, the Firm acted as the exclusive legal advisor in the majority equity sale of Agreement Express Inc. to Frontier Capital, through a plan of arrangement in May 2018. Agreement Express Inc. is a Vancouver-based SaaS digital onboarding platform provider focused on streamlining and enhancing the client experience for wealth management, payments and insurance providers.
The transaction was chosen as the “2018 Deal of the Year” not only because it was financially notable among other deals in the province, but also because it had a number of complexities in the structure and execution, which the ACG British Columbia committee felt were highly deserving of recognition.
This award celebrates a leading British Columbia sell-side transaction, recognizing the executive team, as well as British Columbia-based professional firms and other individuals involved, whose excellence in executing the transaction led to an exceptional outcome. In this instance, Agreement Express’s CEO and CFO were acknowledged.
The award was especially notable for Iain because in addition to leading the transaction, he also co-led the deal that won last year’s award. Other team members of the “2018 Deal of the Year” included Martin Ferreira Pinho, Gosia Piasecka (Corporate), Mike Coburn (Tax), Tracey Cohen, QC (Litigation) and Karam Bayrakal (Information Technology).
