Toronto (Canada) – Aubrey E. Kauffman is the recipient of the 2019 Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Murray Klein Award of Excellence in Insolvency Law. He was presented the award last night at a reception in Toronto.
The prestigious award celebrates Aubrey’s contributions to the profession. It recognizes Ontario insolvency and restructuring lawyers for their combined and consistently demonstrated integrity, decency and selflessness in their approach to professional practice.
Aubrey is a partner in Fasken’s Toronto office with the Insolvency and Restructuring group. His practice is focused on advocacy matters related to domestic and cross-border bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring proceedings. He is the director of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association - Insolvency Section. Aubrey is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School and has been recognized by Chambers Canada, the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Who’s Who Legal.
Acting in many high-profile insolvency proceedings, Aubrey has advised a variety of stakeholders including court officers, debtors, directors and officers, creditors at all levels of the capital structure and government agencies.
