Radio-Canada interviews Montréal lawyer Jean-François Cloutier in a report about employers’ obligations during the pandemic.
“An employer must take the necessary measures to protect its employees’ health and safety. Employers must use methods and techniques to identify, control and eliminate the risks associated with the work,” said Jean-François Cloutier, a lawyer specializing in labour law, as the coronavirus crisis unfolds. He added that employers must comply with the recommendations issued by public authorities and noted that in this regard, Quebec employers have tended to stand with their employees during the present global crisis.
