Toronto (Canada) – Vanessa Henri has been recognized as one of the Top 20 Women in Cyber Security in Canada. Her accomplishments were celebrated at a special virtual event held yesterday afternoon.
Established by the Women in Security & Resilience Alliance (WISECRA) in collaboration with IT World Canada (ITWC) to raise awareness about the invaluable role that women play in the cyber security sector, this inaugural award celebrates Vanessa’s experience, qualification and contributions to the cyber security community in Canada. It recognizes Canadian women who work in cyber security across a wide variety of organizations, including CISOs, company founders, professors, directors, and women holding numerous specialty positions in both the public and private sectors.
A lawyer in the Firm’s Montréal office with the Emerging Tech group, Vanessa specializes in data governance and information security law. She is a Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) and a Lead Implementer for ISO 27701 with proven experience in assisting organizations protecting their informational assets ranging from trade secrets to personal data through legal risk management strategies and data management programs. Vanessa helps organizations, in particular in the sector of emerging technologies, to manage legal risks relating to data in a preventive manner, allowing organizations to build trust with their customers and acquire a competitive edge. She teaches various classes on cybersecurity law at St-Thomas University’s LLM Program in Cybersecurity Law & Policy, in Miami, where she is on the board of advisors. A published author, Vanessa is a sought after thought leader who has appeared as an expert for various media events. She is also involved with various organizations committed to advancing women in the technology sector, shaping the path for future generations.
