Our colleague and friend, Sherman Hood, QC, passed away on the morning of May 21, 2021.
Sherman had a long and distinguished career as a lawyer and a partner at Fasken (formerly Russell & DuMoulin). Sherman joined the Firm as an insurance and general litigation lawyer in 1961. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1985. In 1989, Sherman was elevated to serve as a justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, a position he held for 18 years.
Following Sherman’s retirement from the Bench, he returned to Fasken where he provided inimitable knowledge and expertise to the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. We were fortunate to have benefitted from his guidance and good humour for many years.
Sherman will be greatly missed.
