Peter Pliszka is regarded as one of Canada’s leading litigation lawyers and is Co-Leader of the Firm’s Life Sciences group and the National Chair of the Product Liability and Insurance group. Peter is a repeat winner of this award, having previously been named by LMG as Canadian Product Liability Attorney of the Year in 2016. As well, Peter has helped lead Fasken to being named Canadian Life Sciences Product Liability Firm of the Year by LMG Life Sciences in four of the past eight years. His practice is focused primarily on product liability and class action litigation matters and is national in scope. Peter manages litigation proceedings across Canada and has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and other Canadian provinces as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. Peter frequently represents clients in parallel Canada-US cross-border legal proceedings, and he has extensive experience working collaboratively with his clients’ outside counsel in other countries to provide effective, seamless and cost-efficient results.
Author of “Drug and Health Products Law in Canada” with a Doctor of Law degree, Mathieu Gagné is specialized in drug and other health products (medical devices, cosmetics, natural health products, etc.) related laws. He has a unique knowledge of the legal framework governing drugs and other health products, from their inception in the lab to their consumption and has counselled many major international pharmaceutical companies on drug insurance plans, clinical trials, drug pricing and reimbursement, business practices, issues related to the approval, marketing, manufacturing and distribution of drugs in Canada. Mathieu’s expertise as one of the top life science lawyer has been recognized by numerous legal directories, including Chambers Canada, Who’s Who Legal, Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Best Lawyers.
